[A. Lorekeepers] Without a hatched dragon to get flying lessons, the Doctor's focused more on learning what he can from the Scholars. He's learned—not entirely on purpose—from them that his element is Water, but when pushed to expand on that knowledge, he closed off. Most things in the Doctor's life he'll hit the ground running and keep going... but this? This requires time.
A lot of time.
That doesn't mean he won't observe the different elements at work. He can be found at the back of most classes, quiet unless engaged.
At night, he sits in with the gatherings, absorbing all the information.
"It's a lot to take in," he murmurs quietly.
[B. So you want to fly a griffin] Money is going to become an issue, he realizes very fast. Usually he's not on any one planet for long, or he... finds methods of obtaining what he needs. He's going to have to get some form of income in the future, if he wants to be able to support a growing dragon.
But eggs don't need a lot, so the Doctor picks up a bundle of food to entice griffins with, and his first flight up is... everything he needs. Freedom. He means to map out Nuren in his mind, but he focuses on the wind, focuses on the flight, and the sheer giddiness of riding a griffin.
When he lands, he remembers what he was supposed to be doing. He coaxes the griffin for another ride. If anyone's standing about, now's the time to snag a ride with him.
