"I had a buddy in the Army who did the same sorta thing, traveled around a bunch." It's the arm that grabs his attention and holds it more than anything else. It's not the same, but nothing else is, either. But the similarities are there, and hard to deny. He just doesn't really know how.

"Air Force, pararescue." Some guys like to rib guys in the other branches, have a friendly rivalry (or occasionally less than friendly), but Sam's never seen the point. They all served together, after all.
